Where You'll Work

This position is based in our Lenexa, Kansas office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You'll Do

The Business Systems Analyst acts as a key resource on projects and works very closely with the project management team to support scope, schedule, and requirements for projects. Working closely with the team requesting the project to understand their strategic direction and priorities, the current infrastructure and architecture, as well as the technology roadmap. Acts as a liaison between the business community and the technology team to ensure the technical solution meets business needs.

  • Develops a thorough understanding of business processes, architecture, and technology to support business unit requirement development, documentation, and internal knowledge transfer.
  • Works with business partners to elicit high-level requirements to capture an accurate and comprehensive view of the business needs.
  • Facilitates meetings to document business systems and operational workflows/diagrams/definitions, as well as high-level and detailed design documentation, to use as visual aids for business and technical stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Translates business needs into clear and concise industry standards and requirements that can be understood by all stakeholders, vendors, and technical resources; ensures the standards and requirements can be leveraged for design and development.
  • Conducts gap analysis on system and business requirements when required for project success.
  • Leads stakeholders through comprehensive alternatives analysis and documents for project sponsor/leadership decision-making.
  • Serves as a liaison between the business community and the technology team to ensure technical solutions align with project scope and meet business needs.
  • Conducts system testing and inspection of development deliverables to evaluate function and performance.
  • Leads and executes user acceptance testing by working with key resources throughout the organization; manages technical issue resolution utilizing agile testing methodology.
  • Analyzes business operations and utilizes strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose problems and interdependencies and recommend solutions. Presents findings to the project team and facilitates/incorporates additional feedback from subject matter experts as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates qualitative and quantitative problem-solving and visualization skills and recommends solutions for resolving business and technical issues.
  • Follows agile best practices and utilizes project tracking tools such as Microsoft DevOps.

Experience and Skills

What You'll Bring to CHA

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.

  • Bachelor's degree in field of study that supports job requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a business analyst role with technical, analytical, and SQL skills
  • Experience with healthcare data (claims, administrative, billing, etc.) or healthcare analytics is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of complex data relationships to perform analysis of healthcare data.
  • Demonstrated experience with large data sets requiring significant attention to detail.
  • Experience as a liaison between business operations and technical groups with demonstrated ability to problem solve and collaborate with others for solutions.
  • Ability to create formal requirements-gathering documentation.
  • Ability to present complex business processes and technical solutions to all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to understand complex system integrations to identify business and technical impacts/risks.
  • Experience planning, leading, and executing a comprehensive testing strategy (business and technical)
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to balance priorities across multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience with process design, development, and documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience with infrastructure and software development projects.
  • Experience with Visio, process flow diagrams, and agile development methodology
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma and Tableau is a plus.
