This Production & Materials Coordinator position is a 3rd shift opportunity. Your schedule would be Sunday - Thursday, 11:30pm - 8:00am.

This position has a broad range of end-to-end responsibilities supporting the daily production, raw materials management and ordering in various Hallmark facilities, most of which will occur in manufacturing. This position is responsible for ensuring production has the required materials and tickets needed to produce, convert and package Hallmark and other product. This position also manages raw material purchase orders and invoice errors to ensure timely payment to suppliers.

The Production & Materials Coordinator may have areas of emphasis within these functions; however the incumbents have expertise and knowledge in performing all aspects of the roles. This role is also responsible for data accuracy, reporting and raw material inventory management

In this role you will:

  • The Production & Materials Coordinator understands production plans for the facility and provides production support including prepping tickets, completing scheduling cards and adjusting production orders as needed. Completes a pre-production check to ensure data integrity and identifies workflow issues through the operation, including QN's, master data change requests, etc.
  • The Production & Materials Coordinator is responsible for raw materials availability and management. This includes counting and managing PSAs, researching and resolving component or raw material issues (excess or shortages). The position will work to optimizes inventory levels for raw materials and if needed, facilitate expediting materials for exceptions. This position is also responsible for consulting with buyers and revising existing MRP settings and determining when changes are needed. Conducts dead/slow moving stock analysis and makes recommendations. Consults with Procurement and Production Planning regarding disposition of dead/slow moving stock and updates in SAP accordingly.
  • Responsible for raw material purchase orders in Ariba & SAP. Works with suppliers to ensure on-time shipments. This position is also responsible for ongoing SAP PO maintenance including pricing and exceptions management. Manages ensuring POs are closed with 10 days and addresses invoice errors to ensure timely payment to suppliers. This position is also responsible for managing Crayola & UK sales orders, production orders, invoices and UK & International shipments.
  • Runs & produces reports including; production, serviceability, available work and CSR reports. Creates reports for partners including buying teams.
  • Manages quality issues for materials including creating and updating QNs. Works QNs for defective materials and manages defective raw materials. Works with strategic buyer to address issues with the supplier and return defective materials.
  • Routinely running out of a key raw material. Need to be able to understand what drives the ordering and identify what the gap is that is causing the out of stock and then address in the system.
  • Ensure that all components and materials are available to support execution by dates and how to problem solve if there is late work.
  • Understands the intricacies of BOM setup. Trouble shoot issues related to setup, ratio inaccuracies, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Experience in handling multiple computer systems, including mainframe, internet based, and/or PC applications
  • Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to pass a 2010 version of Microsoft Excel, and Word testing as part of the interview process (only passing scores in Skill Check will be considered).
  • Must be able to pass a typing test of 30 wpm as part of the interview process (only passing scores in Skill Check will be considered).
  • Testing will be scheduled once you are selected for an interview.
  • Experience with SAP
  • Ability to be performed in a seated position 80-90% of the time
  • Ability to perform frequent reaching and repetitive hand and wrist motions and fine motor skills
  • Ability to perform some walking, bending, stooping and light lifting (up to 30 pounds)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of PPS
  • Experience with Ariba, Descartes, and Pre-Production Planning and DRP
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to a very dynamic process
  • Proven self-starter with strong time management skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid analytical, LEAN and root cause problem solving skills
  • Organized, capable of handling the pressure of meeting deadlines and a team player
  • Excellent communication skills & strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively deal with ambiguity in daily work

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • If on the production floor, there is some noise and hearing protection is required by Hallmark.
  • The job will include other duties as assigned in order to support the plant objectives
  • This is a climate-controlled manufacturing environment with normal physical injury hazard.

This position is located in Lawrence, Kansas. Relocation is not provided.
