What we do and how we do it

The Hallmark Visitors Center (HVC) is a free exhibit space that shares the story of the Hallmark company. HVC Ambassadors bring that story to life by ensuring high quality guest experiences that encourage visitors to interact with the Hallmark brand in new and interesting ways. Located at Hallmark's Headquarters in Crown Center, the HVC is open Tuesday - Saturday and welcomes thousands of visitors annually: employee groups, business partners and affiliates, tourists, school and community groups, Hallmark fans and customers.

In this role you will

Guest Services Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and introduce guests to the Hallmark Visitors Center, sharing information, answering questions, and encouraging exploration during their time in the exhibits.
  • Support and collaborate with HVC staff to host receptions and produce special events for Hallmark and Crown Center business and employee groups.
  • Participate in researching, creating, and delivering content, which may include talks, tours, or other interpretative opportunities.

Exhibit Operations Responsibilities:

  • Assist with HVC opening, closing, and front desk procedures.
  • Monitor the physical environment of the HVC, which includes upkeep and safety of exhibits, tidying and spot-cleaning as needed, and reporting maintenance issues to appropriate staff.
  • Support other guest experience duties, including tracking attendance and monitoring the HVC Shop.

    Basic Qualifications:

    The following is required to be considered for this role:

    • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
    • Minimum experience of one year working in a public-facing role, such as hospitality, customer service, or museum docent
    • Able to stand and walk around for extended periods of time

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Able to effectively and positively engage and communicate with individuals and groups of various ages and backgrounds.

    Additional Details:

    • Work Schedule: 9:15 am - 4:15 pm Wednesdays, Fridays, and two Saturdays per month
    • Additional expected hours/workdays for holidays, seasonal and special events
    • This is an on-site, in-person position at the Hallmark Visitors Center, located at Hallmark's Headquarters in the Crown Center area in downtown Kansas City.
    • Relocation is not provided.
